About

Dan Pan

I'm a union graphic designer working in film and television in the New York area.

My process starts with questions. What does this need to communicate to the viewer? What's the most precise way to say it? What happens when you strip everything back to what's essential? The answers shape the work.

I've worked with various film and production studios in my 19 years as a USA 829 graphic artist. Projects include Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Organized Crime, Quantico, and The Enemy Within.

How I work
01

Understand

Every project begins with listening. I want to know what you're trying to say, who you're saying it to, and what's been tried before.

02

Question

I push back on assumptions — mine and yours. The brief is a starting point, not a constraint. The best work usually comes from the unexpected angle.

03

Make

Concepts are developed quickly and shown early. I'd rather show you something rough and real than something polished and wrong.

04

Refine

Details matter. The final 20% of a project takes 80% of the care. I don't ship work I wouldn't put my name on.

Available for freelance and full-time roles.
